Magnolia Kate Turns 2

Since Curtis was born just before Magnolia's birthday we didn't have a big party or even leave the house. But we had the BEST stay home 2 year old birthday EVER! It was an all day fun things for Maggie day and she loved it! Here's how it went...
Started with her "opening" her gift from us-a mini trampoline. She loves it, she's been jumping ever since!
Then we had chocolate milk and cookies. I was teaching her how to make chocolate milk and this was the first attempt, didn't quite make it in. The second try was perfect.
Drinking from crazy straws. She LOVED these! So glad that a dollar purchase of crazy straws could make a girl so happy-it's the simple things that mean the most.
 Built a fort with dad.
We had one intense game of Don't Eat Pete!
Building towers out of blocks, she was very focused.
Tried to get a picture of her sitting with all of her presents. She wanted to be jumping in the picture :)
A couple of weeks before her birthday I was at the store shopping with Maggie and asked her what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. She said PINK CAKE!!! Then for the next 2 weeks anytime birthday was mentioned she would say pink cake, pink cake! Later she added that she wanted marshmallows on it. So here it is. I made her a pink cake with marshmallows on it!
After we had a dance party and movie night with glow sticks. It was a perfect day.

I love Magnolia so much. She is such a happy girl and so much fun. She loves people and she loves to play. Here are 10 things about my girl:
1. 2 year stats. 25 lbs (30%) and 35 inches tall (70%)
2. She LOVES to read. Just ask the grandmas that were each here for a week they will tell you that this little girl loves her books and knows them too. She will sit and read many many times a day.
3. She goes to a gymnastics class and really loves it. She especially loves the stamp they give them on their hand at the end.
4. She has wild hair that looks like a mullet if it is down. The front is just not keeping up with the back so it's pigtails and ponytails everyday.
5. She says "Hold you" when she wants you to hold her.
6. She says the sweetest prayers. Last week she was on a kick of thanking Heavenly Father for nails. She doesn't just say thank you for nails, she says thank you for Maggie's nails, Daddy's nails, Mommy's nails, and Curtis' nails. So cute!
7. She LOVES the temple. She asks weekly to drive past the temple and can point out a picture of the temple in any book even if it's one she's never seen. She wants us to drive to the "anti temple" What she means is the Manti Temple :)
8. She loves to cheer Curtis on during tummy time or if he is on his play mat to swat at the toys. She is a great big sister.
9. She loves to sing songs. Her favorite right now is 5 little monkeys swinging in the tree.
10. She moves a mile a minute. This girl sure loves to experience things and live life. She is always busy and on the go!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGNOLIA KATE!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Oh man, we miss you guys! Maggie and Emma are SO alike, it's crazy! The fun they'd be having right now if closer (they are the perfect age for it now!) Stats are almost identical, Emma LOVES her books too and we have to read like ten every night before bed, definite mullet hair (though she rarely allows me to put pig/pony tails in), she always say, "hold me, hold me" and when we do hold her tight, she yells to other parent, 'save me, save me!'. She is saying her prayers now too...SO CUTE (though no obsession with nails). LOVES the temple, always points in out, and asks me to sing her the 'temple song'. I babysit a friends baby every week and she is the best helper - greets them with a hug and kiss on the head every time. and the thing they have MOST in common...never sits still and never any rest for the weary! But love it! These girls are the best!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!!! Can't wait until you come up again and you girls can play together!
